Do you and your colleagues need a deeper understanding of what sustainability means within the interior design industry? Or do you wish to incorporate sustainability education for architecture and interior design students at colleges and universities? Then you’ve come to the right place.

Hållbar interiör offers participants within the interior design industry the opportunity to choose between three courses, focusing on principles of circular economy, design and understanding, and utilization of the environmental criteria of the HI certification.

OUR THREE TRAINING PROGRAMS:

  • HI courses: A short, web-based course designed for anyone interested in the HI certification.
  • HI Coach courses: A more extensive, on-site program for those who want to guide others in certifying their premises with the HI label or gain deeper knowledge while building valuable networks.
  • University-Level Educational Material: Researchers have developed ready-to-use teaching materials tailored for architecture and interior design programs.

HI- courses

The short training consists of several teaching modules with videos and interactive exercises. It targets those who want an overview of the Hållbar Interiör certification and to determine if it can be useful for their company.

HI- Coach course

The longer course takes place on-site and takes up one workday. In addition, participants need to allocate time for individual work on projects, follow-up, and network meetings. Through lectures and discussions, participants receive a thorough review of the HI certification’s climate and environmental criteria, the verification process, individual work on case studies, and follow-up summaries and evaluations. The training targets those who will lead an organization in implementing the Sustainable Interior certification. We conduct the training on-site in Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö, focusing on dialogue and networking opportunities with other participants.

UNIVERSITY LEVEL TRAINING

Robert Boyer and Derek Diener, researchers at RISE -Research Institutes of Sweden-, developed the university-level training materials. These materials are presented in five teaching modules and are adapted for university-level students. The self-instructive modules can easily be used as part of architecture and interior design education.

The university courses are available in both Swedish and English.

“The goal of our training is to raise awareness about the interior design industry’s impact on the environment and to provide a tool for systematically reducing this footprint.” – Filippa Karlsson
